10 Tips To Plan The Best Girls' Vacation

A friend is like a good bra:

hard to find, supportive, comfortable,

always lifts you up, never lets you down, or leaves you hanging and is

always close to your heart.  Author unknown

If we believe vacations are therapeutic and can make you healthier and that friendships can extend your life expectancy, lower your chance of heart disease and help you better tolerate pain.  What are you waiting for?  Send out a call to your mother, daughter and sista friends and plan your next trip.

Ten Tips:

1.   Send out a text to friends/relatives to see who is interested in taking a vacation.

2.   Be selective in picking your group.  The group dynamics can make or break your trip.

3.    Ask the group what they need? Do they want to unplug, take a beach trip, spa treatments, wellness week, wine tasting tour/ cooking classes, try forest bathing, outdoor adventure or museum trip for history research? Themes can be developed around a city.  My favorite, New Orleans. Music and food theme.

4.   Pick one coordinator, but everyone should give their in-put and  everyone can do the research on destinations.  Pick a few for the group to vote on.

5.   Set a budget and a date for your trip quickly so you can lock it in.

6.   Have group download WhatsApp to communicate with everyone. Later everyone can add pictures from the trip.

7.   If you are planning to leave the country make sure everyone has a current passport and if you will need a visa for travel. Check that you have enough time to get a new passport or to renew one.

8.    Coordinate outfits so everyone will know if they need formal outfits.

9.     Encourage the group to be open to try something new.

10.    Plan an agenda but make time to just chill and relax.
